• Other Nutritional Considerations

N-P-K fertilizers such as 3-18-18 may be foliar applied if tissue test results indicate N-P-K is low in the crop. AgriCal® is recommended to be soil or foliar when soil test percent base saturation for calcium is below 70%. Nutra-Boost® rates of application are based on soil and tissue test results for K, Mg, and S. Tissue analyses are desired prior to first cutting and after each cutting when new growth is 4"-6" tall prior to flowering. Rates (either up or down) and actual products used may vary based on these results. Foliar applied supplemental manganese, iron or zinc may be needed in some situations, with rates based on tissue test results. Molybdenum should be included in all soil and tissue/sap tests. IMPORTANT: Reduce or eliminate AgriGuardian Moly™ from application if tissue tests show adequate molybdenum levels in tissues. Typical sufficiency range for molybdenum in alfalfa is 1-5 ppm.
